Conservative Treatment

CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT

Not all patients with chronic hip problems are candidates for surgical or interventional treatments. In many cases, chronic hip pain syndromes can be effectively managed with appropriate activity modifications and alterations in joint biomechanics, especially in athletes.

Physical therapy and kinesiology play a significant role in managing hip conditions such as femoroacetabular impingement. Many cases of femoroacetabular impingement or even partial acetabular labral tears can be treated with physical therapy, which helps reduce inflammation and alleviate symptoms.

Conservative treatment is the cornerstone of hip problem management, often leading to complete recovery or at least a significant reduction in symptom severity.
